Company founded in Berlin by Georg Stenzel with used machinery trade.
The Stenzel family has been trading in machinery for almost 100 years. Michael Stenzel has been active for over 40 years and has introduced brands like Nakamura, Matsuura and Brother into Germany. At the end of 2005 Joseph Stenzel joined the business after his studies of industrial engineering and business administration. He is the 4th generation dealing in machine tools and has expanded the business with the used machnery webportal.



Representation of German machinery like Roscher & Eichler, Lindner, Pfauter and Union.


Corporate takeover by Werner Stenzel and Karl von Beauvais - introduction of special machinery from the USA e.g. Cincinnati, LeBlond, Norton and Warner & Swasey for the automotive industry.

New founding of company in Wiesbaden
Our main business was with american machinery for the reconstruction of German industry.







Orders from the German automotive industry - mainly Opel Bochum
Resumption of the czech representation of TOS, Škoda, Mas and Warnsdorf. It was the highlight for Stenzel due to the "economic miracle" in Germany lasting until 1968.




Diversification with tooling specialities, catalog parts for tool and mold makers accounted for approx. 50% turnover until 1990.

Loss of the representation Cincinnati, -40% drop in turn over.

Michael Stenzel received a masters degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Machine Tool Engineering (University of Cincinnati / USA ) and joined the family business.

The Stenzel Normalien GmbH was founded - production of catalogue parts for molds - today trading under ABA Normalien in Ilmenau with 50 employees.




Absolute crisis year - turnover and margin decline of 80 % - Employees approx. 200 - 90 in machine tools - asset stripping of the company group by banks - out of that, 22 new companys emerged from which 5 are still operating successfully today.
Stenzel Verwaltungs GmbH was founded - German representation for Nakamura CNC lathes.


Exclusive representation of YCM (Yeong Chin).
The Nakamura representation was handed over to the Hommel Group.
The representation of YCM was handed over to the company W&R.
Return to trading in used machinery which was the original business of the company when founded in the year 1913.

Joseph Stenzel received his diploma in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration with focus on mechanical engineering (TU Darmstadt)and joined the family business.

Joseph Stenzel became CEO. The company was renamed "Stenzel GmbH" and moved to Hellmundstr.37, 65183 Wiesbaden.

Renaming of Stenzel Verwaltungs-GmbH to Stenzel GmbH, of which Joseph Stenzel becomes the sole shareholder.

100th anniversary of company Stenzel 1913-2013

Move from the Wiesbaden city centre to Oestrich-Winkel. The new premises offer logistical advantages and more space for overhauling machines in our own hall.
