Grinding machines are used for the surface treatment of a wide variety of materials such as metal, wood, stone, glass or plastic and are used in different designs depending on the purpose, for example, as a machine tool, for cylindrical grinding, surface grinding and centerless grinding machines.
No matter which application you need a machine for: With us, you can get everything from a new round grinding machine to a used centerless grinding machine at the best prices!
A special distinguishing feature of our grinding machines is the degree of automation: Conventional grinding machines, for example, are particularly suitable for single-item and small-batch production. CNC-controlled grinding machines instead show their efficiency advantages in large-batch production.
In the production process, grinding usually follows the machining of a workpiece if the workpiece is to be further shaped, smoothed, sharpened, polished or freed from coatings. There is no difference in quality between a new and a used grinding machine. When selling, we pay attention to accuracy and the condition of the machines. You will receive all technical information about the (used) grinding machines from us.
Abrasives (abrasive materials)
The finer the grain of the abrasive, the smoother the surface to be machined. In most cases, the abrasives used are papers or textiles with an abrasive layer of small abrasive particles of corundum, silicon carbide or diamond. In addition, abrasive stones, usually made of pressed and fired quartz sand, as well as liquid abrasives are also used in the production of particularly precise workpieces. When using a used grinding machine, you should check beforehand which abrasive your machine requires.
Coolant and suction device for used grinding machines
Since a lot of heat is released by friction during grinding, cooling lubricants are usually used to prevent damage to the material and the (used) grinding machine. Here, the cooling lubricant is fed into the machining zone via nozzles and recycled after use, so that means to be filtered and cooled.
To ensure that the ground-off particles do not cause damage to the workpiece, grinding machines are usually equipped with an extraction or dust removal system. In addition, special oil mist separators are used to extract aerosols and steam.
Buying a used grinding machine
A used grinding machine is much cheaper to buy than a new machine. To ensure that the investment remains profitable in the long term, you should make sure that the machine is in perfect condition before buying it. One of the most important criteria is the cleanliness of the used grinding machine. The grinding dust produced during grinding consists of particularly fine particles that can accumulate even in parts of the sanding machine that are difficult to access if there is insufficient extraction and rinsing. In addition, the bearings need to be checked, as they are exposed to particular stresses due to the high speed of the spindles.
Our service technicians are familiar with the (used) grinding machines of a wide range of manufacturers and will be happy to put their experience and trained eye at your disposal to check your desired machine.
Hire of a secondhand grinding machine
At Stenzel you can buy and sell new and used grinding machines. We do not offer a rental service.
What you must bear in mind when using a grinding machine
If you work with a grinding machine and want to grind a product, you need several procedures. During this process, the grinding machine grinds with different grit sizes. At the beginning, the coarsest grit size is used and as you progress in the process, the grit size becomes smaller and finer. The higher the grit size, the finer the abrasive and the smoother the surface.
To protect your health, you should wear safety goggles and a dust mask during the grinding process of the grinding machine.
